Walking from Neumann's Flash to Marbury...................... and a Xmas surprise

The weather is very mild for the time of year... the temperature is still in double figures.

We went for walk this morning starting off at Neumanns Flash...

... before heading towards Marbury Country Park.

Crossing the Trent and Mersey Canal into the woods of Marbury.

A quick stop at the woodland bird hide was well worth it... plenty of birds on the feeders...
... this little Robin came close enough for me to capture a shot.

As we headed back home we came across this little tree... covered in little Christmas decorations.
It was in the middle of nowhere in the woods between Marbury Country Park and the canal.
It's wonderful what you come across just by getting out for a bit of fresh air.

The sunshine sure looks nice. The tree would be a nice treat to stumble across unexpectedly.

How absolutely cool that somebody decorated that tree ... I love this little secret discovery. It was a great walk even without that, but then really special with it.

We haven't had too much sun lately Andrew, good to see you experience a minute or two of it. There's a few placesa round here where that tree would have lost its decorations pretty smartish.

I recognise those paths and I think I had a picture of a Robin on the post with the nail in, but it isn't as good as yours. From Findlay

It really fires up the imagination as to why someone has decorated that particular tree in the middle of nowhere.

What a delightful walk ... your robins are so different than ours. I think they are adorable (ours are bigger and a little bossy, but lovable just the same). I love the little decorated tree in the middle of nowhere ... somebody was very thoughtful and full of the Christmas spirit ... and how nice that you were able to share in it. Lovely post ...

Very mild here as well Andrew. Love it when you find a bit of British eccentricity when out and about.
