Garden birds................................................ whose in charge of the feeders?

I enjoy watching all the birds in my garden...and yesterdays antics really made me smile.

I had another visit from the Long-tailed Tit's just as I was preparing to top up the feeders.

The House Sparrows seemed impatient...
...and kept trying to muscle in.

This little fella wasn't fazed at all.

Then it was the turn of the little Coal Tit to get some hassle.

It stood it's ground...

...before relenting and sharing what was left in my repaired (squirrel damage) feeder.

Oh! and by the way... he was back causing more mayhem later.

  2. House Sparrows are such a nuisance here, anyway. They've taken over everything from feeders to nesting sites. Funny how one man's garden bird is another man's invader. Although, you did end up with squirrels so I guess we're even! :-)

Nice job getting the sparrow in flight! Naturally, I had to laugh at the squirrel...they're a damn nuisance everywhere!

  5. Our birds pretty much get along with one and the other except for the doves who seem to be bossy over the tray feeder. I put the squirrel cage on the tray and this keeps the big birds away so the little ones can feed in peace. Incidentally, this morning a squirrel found a new home a couple miles from here.

  7. sweet birds but that squirrel ...! Only way round that critter is to put the feeders inside a 'cage' that he can't venture inside but the birds can come and go freely

  12. Nice shots of the garden birds Andrew, it's always entertaining to watch their antics, along with those of the Squirrel, of course!

I'm glad to see that all those mad dashes home from school so that you could watch Blue Peter on the telly have paid dividends in the end!...[;o)
