I am fortunate to have a company vehicle to travel to and from work... it saves me a small fortune.
When I have holidays I have to beg a lift or make my way home using public transport.
Altrincham Market Hall
Yesterday I got home by getting a tram to the town of Altrincham.
From Altrincham I can catch a train to my home town.
I had 3/4s of an hour before the next train so had a wander around.
You can tell times are hard... this is the main shopping area... it's Saturday afternoon.
The last time I was here (a few years ago) it was heaving.
As I turned a corner I saw these steel drums.
The band must have gone off for lunch... the yellow bucket was for collecting cash for their charity.
A worthwhile cause... I read that they have gigs most weekends all over the country.
I googled them when I got home... there story is here... http://www.pantonic-all-stars.org/
They have even performed all over Europe... and they have to carry all there kit with them.
I hung around mooching around a few shops and about 10 minutes before my train was due they returned.
This little clip only shows a minute of the band playing... this tune lasted over 10 minutes.
I missed my train! I had another hour to wait for the next one.
I am a real sucker for street performers... I love to see it and have posted quite a few over the years.
These were up there with the banjo player in Chester a few weeks ago with his dancing daughter.
And doing it for a worthwhile cause... if anyone wants to view the 8 minutes I took I have added that below.
It's all hand held with my little point and shoot.

You didn't want to catch your train, it's better watching and listening to the band. Great stuff.

That was an awesome Steele Drum Band. loved the videos.
Wow! That's so cool - and really worth the wait. I enjoyed the guy in the back with the little 'drums'. Thank you for sharing and have a great week!

The market hall sure looks neat and tidy. I reckon it'd be such fun to play the drums, and good exercise too, you could have a real workout drumming out your favourite music/beat.
Super film. I am greeting
I think this was well worth missing the train for. Its not everyday you see street performers like this out on the street.
Nice piece of footage aswell
Happy Bank Holiday
