It must have been a good year for the pheasants... I am seeing loads on my way to work.
Unfortunately I see plenty of roadkill.
It's close season for shooting these lovely birds... traffic is their biggest enemy at the moment.

We have a lot of them where we live, I like them a lot and am happy that so many are still around.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a few sometime, so beautiful~
ReplyDeleteI'm flushing a lot of pheasant while running at the moment, often from places I've never come across them before. Suddenly a red flash will erupt out of undergrowth with a gravelly, scraping cry.
ReplyDeletethat's a shame.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty bird. It is sad so many end up as road kill. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...I haven't seen a pheasant in eons!!! Such a pity they end up as carrion for some other animal.
ReplyDeleteYep, they're not the smartest birds in the world. It's no wonder so many get hit, when you see how slow they are to react to a ton of metal heading towards them. Eeek.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful capture. Sad to hear of so many killed in the road.
ReplyDeleteGreat close-up photo. The feather details are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat close up though a shame their road sense is a little lacking.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bird. Great photo. I don't understand how people can shoot something.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful portrait! Gorgeous closeup!
ReplyDeleteFantastic close up
ReplyDeleteGreat picture Andrew, lovely bird.
ReplyDeleteWonderful close-up. Neat to see all the different types of feathers. I would not want to be plucked by that beak!
