My garden fence is no more.................... but I still have the panel with the hole

If you have followed my blog for any length of time you will be familiar with the hole in my fence.
It's been the focal point of my garden bird watching for the past couple of years.

I've seen seven different bird species using it to enter my garden.
The fence suffered severe damage during the storms in February... and was meant to replaced.

Mandy's dads heart attack and my mothers fall and broken pelvis put all that on the back burner.
The fence was cobbled up just to stop my neighbours little dog from escaping.

My neighbour June passed away a few months ago and her house is now empty.
We have removed the fence.

Her house is for sale but won't sell in a 100 years for the price they are asking...to my advantage.

I still have the fence panel with the hole... plus the next one with the nails.
A garden ornament in the making?.. I have a tube of glue and a hacksaw.

A clip of Robin in the hole ... the little bird that started all this off.

Gosh! I thought you had replaced the fence so I am glad the hole is still there.

I am thinking of punching a hole in my fence if I can attract such little beauties. Love the little video,

Glad to see the hole still there. It seems to give him confidence with being protected from above. His heart is beating really fast as he checks out the risks he is taking. If ever the fence is rebuilt do leave the hole in the corner.

That's an awesome variety of birds you've photographed using the "entrance"! I think a tribute is in order.

Just love these wonderful bird pictures. And you kept the best piece of the fence - do they still use it? :)

I love the posts you've done featuring the garden visitors at the hole in the fence. This little Robin seems to especially like to make his entrances there.

Yes, do keep the hole. If I ever have my own fence, I believe I will punch a hole myself. Yours has attracted lovely creatures.

I caught up on all your posts from this one up that I missed while traveling. Loved every bird and every word! But this is the one I MUST comment on. I'm so delighted you are keeping the fence panel with the hole -- It has provided you and all your readers with so much pleasure. A garden ornament for sure.
