A tribute to June my next door neighbour.................. and the hole in my fence

My next door neighbour passed away a few months ago and I think it's time I gave her a tribute.
We shared a fence... a fence that stopped her little dog from running away.

A fence that has been shared all over the world.
June was in her 90's when she passed away... nursed at home she died in her own bed.

I first met June chatting over our garden fence in April 2005.
90+ years of age but what a past... a Vogue Magazine model in her youth.

She passed away in May... we didn't even know she was ill.
She had called around one morning and gave Mandy this lovely little pottery wren.
" I am having a tidy up" she said... " It's for Andrew I know he loves the birds"
It now sits on top of my PC and I will treasure it for ever.

June was a good neighbor and obviously so were you guys! Sweet memories. She must have loved your 'hole in the fence' pictures as much as you (and we) do!

I know you miss your lovely neighbor. She sounds wonderful. The hole in the fence gave you some good visitors to photograph. And she was so sweet giving you the pottery wren.

What a cute little wren memento! The birds seem to really love the hole in the fence, the robin is such a pretty color.

What a lovely neighbor to have. When I was a very young child in Portland, OR our neighborhood had several wonderful older ladies who were all my "Grandmas." They're nearly all passed on now. It's important to treasure the time we spend with the people we care for. Great shots of the birds through the fence!

What beautiful memories you must have of a special lady. The break in the fence makes the perfect bird frame.

That hole in the fence is a real winner.

Its always remarkable finding out the the person next door is more than you think - I convinced my Mum had a set of these wrens.

Good neighbors can be closer than a family member far away. Glad you found something to remember her by:)
