Being fair skinned I burn rather easily so I always try to cover up, especially in summer. I have a couple of Tilley hats that are excellent as well as a cheap boonie hat that works, too.
This looks great for summer. A deerstalker for winter would keep your ears warm.

That's a nice looking hat! A good hat is required in the desert, especially with my bald head! I don't go out the door without one.
