Last weekend on our whirlwind visit to North Wales we visited Plas Newydd.
A link to the National Trust website here: Plas Newydd
This is the first view of the house you see as you approach it from the car park.
The front of the house looks over the Menai Strait to the mountains of Snowdonia.

The Italianate-style summer terrace was a blaze of colour.
Mandy admiring the flowers... this shot shows the scale of the borders.
The flower border on the other side of the terrace was a much cooler white and blue.
I love the sound of running water in a garden.

We spotted a Wall Brown butterfly basking in the sunshine.
Mandy also got a shot of it over my shoulder... :-)
It was our first visit to Plas Newydd... we will definitely be going back.

the gardens are gorgeous, but i loved those vines on the walls!
btw, a good woman always looks over her man's shoulder. ;)
Gorgeous gardens.
These are so lovely! Looks like you had a beautiful day for your visit. I had to chuckle at your referring to that posh dwelling as a "house." No man, I live in a house. That's a freaking palace. :-)
Love the beautiful gardens (and their pretty butterfly visitor) - my favorite being those stunning, blooming Italian terraces!
Very nice. I would enjoy a visit there.
Those are beautiful borders. Good old NT.
Great images you two! What a grand place, love that fountain!

Looks like an amazing location! Great photos, thanks for the tour.
What a lovely setting with such beautiful vistas. Looks like something from a romance novel. I can see why you want to return.
Oh my! Oh MY! I want to go!!!! Love Wales, and have never been. Visited Ireland once and I remember that gorgeous vine that turns so bright in the fall growing on many buildings. What an amazing house and gardens!!!!!
