"hoovers" had a bath................................................. it was so funny to watch

I had only just changed the water in the bird bath when "hoover" the Woodpigeon decided to have a wash.

Woodpigeon (Columba palumbus).

"Splish Splash I was takin a bath"

All the birds drink and bathe here...

...but I've never seen anything going at it with so much gusto.

As clear as the fresh water was... it was the colour of milk when he'd finished.
It was really funny to watch... I was still laughing changing his bath water a few minutes later.

HI Andrew Well that made me laugh. these shots are superb. Yes they need to get rid of the white powder so that they can replace it and then they are able to waterproof their outer feathers.

You've made my day. What fabulous shots! This is why birdbaths are made and why people buy them, in hopes of such a sight. Few get to see such enthusiastic use of their birdbaths, but there's always hope.

So dang cute~~~ He is lucky to have such a good bath attendant there, changing the water as needed ;>)....worth it for the laughs though; I'd be delighted to do it. Thanks for sharing.

This one cracked me up looking at the splashing and splashing. What a major bath that was...and the milky water. I have yet to have ever seen a bird in my little bath. There is always hope.
