The last time I saw a male Bullfinch on my feeders was in April 2010.
Bullfinch (Phrrhula pyrrhula).
Bullfinch (Phrrhula pyrrhula).
Bullfinches are quite a common bird I often see while out and about...
...just not in my little garden.
This was a grab the camera for record shots moment... all taken through the window.

Luckily for me he had a good look around... before tucking into the sunflower hearts...
I hope I don't have to wait another three years for my next one... such a lovely little bird to see.

Hi Andrew You are fortunate. I have never seen one on my garden and really I don'r even see them often at all. great shots especially through the window.
Wonderful shots of these lovely birds. They've always been one of my favorites.
I have never seen one of these birds. It does pay off to keep your windows clean.
Andrew I wonder if they are having a rough time of it. I've seen very few for the last couple of years.
Have you got music on your blog? Damn near wet myself. It should carry a warning.
love their stout little build and pretty coloration! glad he stopped by!
Lovely looking bird; we don't have them in this area.
Your timing to capturing it in your garden is priceless.
I don't think I have ever seen these birds before, nice colors on him.
That's a great visitor to get. Only had one once in my garden and that was ages ago. from Findlay
Beautiful bird ;-)

My mum had one on the feeders, yesterday when I was visiting, amazing creature, brilliant capture Andrew.
That is one handsome bird and a nice group of pictures. I know what you mean when you say you hope you don't have to wait to see him again. We have a Scarlet Tanager pair in our neighborhood and my neighbor keeps asking me if I have seen them and ... yes, I saw it two summers ago and not since. Oh my ... it is worth the wait though.

Beautiful colours!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Great photos of a beautiful bird.
The Bullfinch is a beautiful bird. Lucky you, it is great visitor to your yard!
What a great find in your garden! Now that he's tasted your offerings, he'll likely remember where he was and will return. (One can hope....)
