The Magpie in my garden................................... is getting closer to the house

I have had this Magpie feeding in my garden for the past couple of weeks...
... it's a bird species I have always struggled to get close to.

...but this one's been getting braver every day.

Magpies are are easily spooked... the sight of me in the house is usually enough to make them disappear.

Meal Worms are this fellas food of choice...
...just a few scattered on the ground have been enough to tempt it in.

This is the closest I have had it to the house... just a few feet from my patio window.
A beautiful bird to see up close.

mealworms would mean a lot to a magpie that's for sure; you got some great photos Drew

Lovely shots of the magpie!

The blue in the feathers rather flies in the face of this bird being black and white.

Nice shots.

Nice photos! It is very difficult to get good pictures of the Magpie. You have succeeded. Well done!

Beautiful close ups. I don't think I've ever seen a magpie.

Great photos! Magpies are very skittish when they visit my feeders too.

I really like the European magpies with their blue wings. They are such very intelligent birds.
