I am just back from North Wales after spending the holiday weekend bird watching on the Isle of Anglesey.
We camped just couple of miles south of the RSPB reserve at South Stack cliffs.
The view from the car park at South Stack... the Llyn Peninsular in the far distance.
South Stack Lighthouse.
Sat on the edge of the cliffs is Ellin's Tower...
... there are free telescopes set up for the public to view the huge Guillemot colony on the cliff face.
Guillemots lay their single egg on the bare rock ledge... the egg is pear shaped so it won't roll off.
Puffins and Razorbills are also nesting on the cliffs.
Our accommodation... I have owned this little tent for 23 years.
Originally bought for backpacking it's still going strong...
...thankfully it's ability to still keep out the rain wasn't tested.
The reason I love camping... it's views like this.

What a gorgeous weekend away and to be young enough to sleep on the ground.
Pretty vacation you had, lovely landscape to boot.
I can't think of a better way to spend a holiday weekend.
Happy to see you had nice weather. My days of sleeping in a tent on the ground our way behind me. Good for you that you still can.

Did you have a wonderful weekend Andrew.

Beautiful area!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Lucky lucky you, Anglesey is such a marvellously beautiful place!
What terrific scenery. I went there many, many years ago and had forgotten about it until I saw your photos.
good to hear the weather was in your favour for a lovely weekend away 'Drew; looks to be a great place to visit. Interested in all those Guillemots too; what a view.
Fantastic area.
Beautiful views!
Great shots, love the lighthouse.
Oh you lucky duck! What beautiful views. I so want to visit England someday!
Gorgeous country! The lighthouse is spectacular! Your tent has lasted 23 years? Now there's a product endorsement! Very few things last that long these days.
It looks serene and relaxing! Beautiful shots.
What a great place. Love that lighthouse!
Good views, good weather...a perfect place to wind down over the bank holiday! Glad you had a good break Andrew...[;o)
I love camping too -- even the "old folk" version that we do nowadays gives you much better views than you'd ever get in even the fanciest hotels.
Great view of the guillemot colony and just of the water and altogether a beautiful getaway.
Looks like a wonderful place to camp... and what a view!!
Such a beautiful collection of images!
Amazing the guillemots that roost there!

Great photos, looks like a Perfect trip!
Love Your SAAB!
You certainly had the weather for it Andrew. I'll have to head up there myself when time allows.
It is a pretty spot to camp. What a view of both the scenery and the birds. Great photos!
Wonderful scenic views and the bird colony perched all down the rocks is amazing.
a great place to visit - not been this year, busy or lazy, not sure!
Great views and fantastic capture of the bird colony.
What a beautiful location!
Gorgeous view!
Glad you had such nice weather in this idyllic location. The cliff face is fascinating, especially when enlarged to full screen size.
I'd put more money on the tent keeping the rain out then than the car - son body stole your roof!
Great shots.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
