Thats a good video - I'm surprised by how jerky some of the movements look - I would have expected slow and steady as it stalks - which show how much I know!
Nice one Andrew, cheers for sharing that. Its nice every now and again to break up a blog with a light hearted video. Ive not seen a heron fishing (or attempting to) before. this is a first for me.

The heron might have failed fishing but you did a great job capturing the attempt!
Nicely done Andrew!
Hope he got one later. Great little video capture!
Great video capture. I like the way the bird shook off all the water afterwards.
Great video of this natural moment!
I do remember this video first time round and enjoyed it again; how patient the heron, very interesting to observe
Oh dear. But the video epitomises trying to capture a heron with his catch . . . a long, long wait and going home empty handed, just like the heron.
The way it moves reminds me a bit of Jura when he's stalking next doors cat. He never catches it. From Findlay.
Ha! I've seen that many times! Sometimes they get fish after fish and other times they miss more than they catch. Great video!

Like our similar Great Blue Heron, which may sit for many minutes without moving. Herons are very diverse in their hunting styles.
Nice video. I'm familiar with the "fishing but no catching" mode!
Great video Andrew! Poor guy, hope he caught something later after getting all wet for nothin'
