Images of the English Lake District..................................................................

I have forfeited a break away due to my knee problem (which is at least showing signs of getting better) to Keswick in the Lake District which has added to my gathering depression.

All the images were taken at Dewentwater during my trip to Keswick in 2011.
Lovely wooden boats for hire or to take a guided tour around the lake.

Catbells and Causey Pike across Derwentwater.

 Derwent Isle.

The lake is home to some fantastic wildlife including Red Squirrels and these Barnacle Geese.

Tourists enjoying a trip around Derwentwater... you can hop on and off at seven points around the lake.

Keswick and it's lake is a wonderful place to visit at any time of year.
I am so glad I have these archives... I haven't even managed to use my camera today... hey ho!

Absolutely adore those wooden boats. For some reason they always remind of The Great Gatsby. Wonderful photos!

Gorgeous wooden boats, beautiful water, and many birds...for what more could a visitor ask? These are such pretty shots...but those boats...they are heavenly. genie

Sorry you had to postpone your trip Andrew but your photos from last year are lovely. I had to do the same thing this year because of an Achilles tendon problem. Glad your knee is improving.

Did you get to visit the car museum ? I will be posting the ones I have from last months visit during the week. I do not get out much these days as the cancer is getting a firm hold on my internal organs. the slow relief opium is begging to work so I am managing a few hours a day concentration on my site and going through photos I want to put on the site. the trip to the lakes being one of them.

A great visit. Glad the knee is feeling slightly better, hopefully it will come on in "gentle" leaps and bounds now. Very quiet here with the boys away :(

oh I would be so gutted to miss out on a trip to the Lake District - I really feel for you, that knee of yours is sure taking its time to heal. The Lakes will always be there for another day though - I'm up there next week (sorry!)

Beautiful place, too bad you are having to take a virtual tour. The barnacle geese are quite unique.
