It's the first day of my holiday... two weeks just doing what I feel like doing at the time.
Mum is home and doing well... I won't stray too far but do intend to take a few days away.
Today has been one of this summers hottest days... I had a lovely walk around my local patch... catching up.
Sunshine... seen growing in an area planted with wildlife in mind....
...it was a beautiful sight and wonderful news for the birds.
No. 3 hide at Neumanns Flash... standing room only here...
...but the view is fantastic.
Speckled Wood.
Butterflies and other flying insects were feeding on a wild Buddleia at the top of the path.

The bird hide at Haydn's Pool.
This Peacock butterfly landed on the front of the hide just as I arrived.
I was taking plenty of images of wild flowers but these Teasels really caught my eye... with the spiders web.
Fingers crossed for more sunshine tomorrow.
It was Haydn's pool where I took the Peacock shot too, wonder if it's the same one. From Findlay

A wonderful set of photos. Take good care of your mum, of course you will.
ReplyDeleteReally great images.
ReplyDeleteLove the Peacock butterfly! Beautiful shot! Enjoy your vacation and glad your mother is doing well!
ReplyDeleteHopefully your first image of the sunflower is a good omen, that there be plenty of it throughout your time off work Drew. The Buddleia looks beautiful and is lovely with the butterfly perched on there too. The Peacock butterfly is soo pretty and vibrant. Your teasel photograph is really a keeper, it would look fabulous on canvas, or a card front even. Very nice, productive walking day.
ReplyDeleteI just love that second photo!
ReplyDeleteNice pictures Andrew, I love the Teasel. We'll soon be uploading Autumn images.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteI am happy with your mum.
