My little garden in the rain................................... it's supposed to be summer

It's been raining all day.
A real shame as there were outdoor events all over the UK to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

I had intended to be in the garden... I still have some bedding plants to put out.

There is something about flowers in the rain.
The roses have started to bloom and the begonias are doing well.

Lovely roses and begonias. It is a shame that it is raining on the Queens celebrations. I hope it stops soon. Lovely photos, Andrew!

A shame about the weather. Too bad we can't do anything about it. But it does look nice in your photos.

yes I'd been hearing about the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the dismal weather conditions. Sweet rose and begonias. Same here, weather has been grey, cold and showery but at least we can call it winter now, officially.

You're right about the rain. We've had rain on and off all day in central New Jersey and all the flowers just seem to perk right up after a shower. Hmmmm, just like humans! BTW, the house sparrow video is wonderful!

One nice thing about the rain is it makes for some beautiful shots! I love the drops on your flowers.

Oh that rain has been crazy for you all!!! That's a shame. I do love the rain and wish we could have some here. Your flowers looks great....and at least you won't have to water the garden:) But it does mess with outdoor activities. Hope it clears up.

The flowers won't mind the rain... I'm a bit tired of this yo-yo, we had 28° on Saturday, 18° yesterday and 16 are forecast for today. With rain...

(Isn't summer technically beginning on the 21t?)

Lovely rose and I think I now need a strawberry pot for flowers! That is a great idea. Now back out to the garden for me as I have two pots to do and then I'm finished with the containers.♥♫

It seems hard to rely on old weather patterns these days. Some of our plants are blooming a few weeks early. And we're having trouble with rust and black spot on roses that are supposed to be disease resistant. Grrr.
