House Sparrows feeding the family................................... a few more images

I took loads of images yesterday of the House Sparrows feeding their offspring... so here's a few more.

These images are of the female... as she went about the business of feeding her young family.

It's hard to believe but the House Sparrow is on the Red List in the UK.
Monitoring suggests a severe decline in the House Sparrow population, recently estimated as dropping by 71 per cent between 1977 and 2008 with substantial declines in both rural and urban populations.

They are beautiful little birds to watch... with so much character.

Just in case you missed yesterdays video clip it's below.

The decline in numbers, because there is not any places they can breed, very sad.

Wonderful moments! House sparrows are disappearing here too, they are only seen around very urban areas. Some say it's due to high usage of mosquito coils in households here.

More great photos! If there was a way to bring some of the House Sparrows from here, I guarantee you could increase the population.
