Sleeping Beauty.....................................................................................

Last weekends walk was full of surprises... the reflections on the water and the lovely sunset were wonderful to see. I also saw some lovely birds during my wander... I have already shared the Long-tailed Tits but I also saw Bullfinches, Goldfinches and plenty of Redwings... and a lovely bird floating gently on the canal.

This lovely Mute Swan was having a snooze.

It was so calm and peaceful....

...until some idiot started clicking away with his camera.... Oops!

I have a free weekend...  It's freezing (-7c this morning)  and we are getting weather warnings for tomorrow.
I have promised my Mum (80) I will help my brother tidy up her garden after the high winds a fortnight ago brought down her fence which has been replaced but the lovely wisteria growing up against it had to cut right back... and we have to shift the debris.

  2. always look forward to your bird and scenery photographs Andrew. My this swan, how lucky it was resting up and you could move on it while it was so still; the photographs are so pristine (with a pristine swan!). When I started reading, "until some idiot started ...." my heart was in my mouth. Glad it was just you clicking your camera! Sounds like a perfect days outing. Keep warm! I admire you guys getting out with your cameras in the cold air; that's pretty tough going by the sounds of it.

  20. Always a conundrum, writing as someone with a camera who's experienced the same unintended consequence. How many times, too, have I stepped, I thought quietly, from out behind a bush to get a better shot, and off flies the bird, or off runs the fox!
