I live in a Black and White Town..............................................Northwich

Images of my home town.
Northwich sit's right in the centre of the beautiful county of Cheshire.
A lot of Northwich is Black and White.
Northwich Library 
This was the towns main Post Office.... it's now a pub aptly named the Penny Black

Town Bridge from the Bullring.

Even new buildings are designed to blend in...

Town Bridge from the site of the Floatel... now demolished.
 It was the only floating hotel in the UK

Hayhurst Swing Bridge from the same spot.

The Bullring... home to banks and estate agents.
I will share more images and information about Northwich over the next few weeks.
 It's only a short walk from my home into the town centre... a town centre with a plan for redevelopment...  currently on hold due to the economic crisis.

    My goodness - reminds me of Shakespeare's home or what I remember studying.

    It is beautiful -does look quite English.

    True or false, that the black and white paint scheme is from the Victorian period? And that originally timbered buildings were sort of beige with natural wood timbers? Does painting the wood black seal and protect it? Sorry, nothing but questions today.

    It looks like a lovely town, with a nice atmosphere! I love it when they keep the old style for new buildings.
    I have a very soft spot for England, having lived 5 month in Carnforth, and 8 months in Wembley in the early 70s. Over the following years I traveled extensively around the country by train, Britrail and Eurail, like so many of us did back then :-)
