Ducks......................lazing on a sunday afternoon

Marbury has some lovely old trees
The spring blossom has arrived
 A lovely sunny spring afternoon and I spent my time having a stroll around Marbury Country Park which is only a couple of miles from home. The Sand Martins have arrived in great numbers following their migration from West Africa. They were a delight to see skimming above the calm waters of the Mere.

The thing that made me smile the most though was the activity of the ducks....sorry inactivity. The Mallards were all sleeping along the shoreline and the Tufted Ducks (so active at Moore a  week ago) were just floating about snoozing in the sunshine.

    Hi Andrew...Lovely peaceful post!!
    Those twisted handsome old trees in the park and at the entrance are wonderful, and so is the sign..I love it!!
    Trees in bloom,sleeping ducks, and the last photo I really like...nice caption to!!lol
    All looks very relaxing.. hope your week is the same....I'm jealous!!

    What a lovely place for man and bird on a Sunday afternoon.
    Just seeing the sign and that terrific tree was enough of a great invitation to see what was to be found in the park.

    Your birds are beautiful Andrew and I can't think of a better way to spend a Sunday. I am madly jealous of your daffodills in the header shot though. (Florida, no winter -- ergo no Spring.) (I love the first part of that, but I miss my spring flowers in Oregon (with its English-like climate)

    This is a lovely setting Andrew. Your daffodil header flipped the switch on my spring fever again. If I had your address I'd send you a snowball! Hey, your last shot of the gulls on the row boat is a classic. Frame it!

    Lovely, lovely photos! I love the tree in the second photo-could stare at that for quite a while and I also loved the carving of the Owl on the sign (I'm afraid I'm not much of a fan of waterfowl, but your photos are great!).
