Kestrel................................................................................... Tatton Park Cheshire

Captured during my visits to Tatton Park to watch the Red Deer rut.
We have had a wonderful Autumn (Fall)... no rain and light winds... the leaves have lasted for weeks.

Isn't he handsome on that colorful branch! When we fed birds at our old home gardens ... in Oregon, we use to have an occasional visit from a Kestral... It was a little hard to let nature take its course occasionally, as you hate to think that your feeders are providing a songbird cafeteria for a raptor. Still, the Kestral was so lovely. And he didn't drop by too often.

I keep seeing kestrels chased into trees by crows, but I can then never find them in the tree. Cunning little raptors!
