So handsome ... I see another published picture in your future! It's funny to me that this raptors Scientific name is GENTleis. I'm sure it means something else and I should look it up!
Sallie - "Accipiter" is Latin for hawk & "gentilis" comes from the Old French "gentil" meaning noble (which is where the English words Gentleman & Gentry are derived and ultimately from the Latin "gentilis"), so the scientific name means "Nobleman's Hawk". It comes from the time when only noblemen would fly these birds. :)
