I have bought a couple of "Bug Hotels".... a Christmas present to my garden.
They will hopefully provide shelter for butterflies, lacewings, solitary bees, spiders and ladybirds.
A home for the insects I need to pollinate my garden and keep it aphid free.

nice of you to provide first-class accommodations.
Nice one Andrew.
I hope it works out well.
That's a neat idea! I had never heard of a bug hotel before!
It's first-class lodging at your patch! I think it will work and the word will get out -- the insects will soon be standing (er, flying) in line to get the best room.
How cool! I've never heard of a bug hotel! I hope it works out.
What a lovely thing to do for the insect visitors to your garden! I'm sure both hotels will host many satisfied guests who will generate a lot of buzz (sorry, couldn't resist). :-) I wonder if you'll find that one design is preferred over the other, or if they're equally used and appreciated.
Happy New Year!
I have never heard of such a thing. It will be interesting to see how it works for you and the birds.
Well your bugs have certainly got a 5 star hotel to reside in.
We saw a lot of those in the UK this summer. I must get or build one one here.
This is a very nice Andrew.
Very interesting and I hope it works out well for everything!
Nice bug hotels...they will attract the bugs and the bugs will attract the birds. I wish you and your family a very happy, healthy New Year!
A great idea!
What a great idea indeed!! Makes for very happy bug and happy birds as well!! Hope you and your family have a wonderful and very Happy New Year!!
Fancy digs for your guests! It may take more than seasonal circle. It took a bit of trial and error for our bat box to attract occupants.
What a great idea ... Will have to check out where I can find some around here.
Cute hotels!
Hope you now get lots of bugs in their new home.
Very attractive accommodation. Are you going to advertise locally or try to attract more worldwide visitors?
I look forward to reading the first Trip Adviser review Andrew. It's a lovely idea and all you need now is a brand new pink bird feeder to make your garden perfect.
Bought one for the folks garden! Hope it does the trick.
Hope this works well for you! I look forward to any photos you may get!
