We managed to get to Tatton Park today to watch the Red Deer preparing for the rutting season.
The stags were roaring and posturing to each other... we saw a few face offs but no fights.
We took loads of images ... far to many to share today.
I also captured about half an hour of video... this is a short clip of a stag readying himself.
We hope to go back on Friday... there was a real buzz in the air.

amazing photo and even more amazing video.
massive rack on that handsome fellow! enjoyed the video very much!
I sure wouldn't want to come up upon one on the trail while riding my mountain bike. Just the mule deer we have here alone are more of a contest than I wish to take on. But hiking and with my camera...I'd love to see a Red Deer Stag. Great photo and video Andrew.
Good branching, lol. Really great photos.
Magnificent! Great photo and video of those big guys!
Well, rough or not, these are spectacular pictures. I do understand why there would be a buzz in the air. I look forward to more of these from today and then more on Friday. Quite an experience, I'm sure.

Wonderful to see these magnificent creatures! - Karen
Handsome animals! I liked the video a lot.
How wonderful to see these beautiful animals in person and getting ready for the rut. Great still and video.
This is amazing to me!! Before your blog, I would never have thought of this kind of wildlife in your country. (Pure ignorance on my part I do know about your history of hunting but somehow never thought about these beautiful animals still around today.)
