Roaring!.................................................... Red Deer Stag sending out a warning

A short video clip of one of the stags roaring at Tatton Park... it's enough to warn off lesser males.

Roaring contests and parallel walking allow males to size each other up without violence.

However conflict can soon escalate between evenly matched stags leading to serious injury and even death.

Super. I've watched and listened to quite a few stags in recent days.

It would warn me off as well ... though I love your pictures, I don't know if I could watch the fights. Something tells me that we are going to see them though ... right? I assure you I can't pass this up. Your photography and videos are wonderful and it something I have never seen. I guess I always have the option of closing my eyes and looking the other way it is gets too rough :)

Awesome! I like how he can touch his own back with his antlers.

Wow! He sounds more like a cow compared to the deer here in West Virginia. Incredible rack!

Not what I expected. I was imagining a higher pitch. Like Angelea said, sounds like a cow.

Great bit of video. No danger of the camera failing to pick that up.
