As I was filling my feeders, I left the lid of the metal can off. When I came back, a little mouse was happily gorging himself. I let him get his fill before chasing him off.
Drew, that is the best looking feeder I have seen yet and good for keeping squirrels out. I'd love to entice the birds to a feeder, trouble is, only the big destructive parrots are brave enough and since I already have hundreds of them that steal or just destroy all our fruit, I really am wary of a population explosion.
Well, at least the Wood Mouse doesn't eat as much as the squirrels, so you are still ahead. That is a very nice feeder ... wondering where you found it. I am trying to wean my squirrels ... they have grown dependent on my feeders and need to learn to fend for themselves ... I won't be here forever and then what will they do? Nice post Andrew ...

Worth the money for the mouse. Feeders are expensive.

Oh that's probably one predator you don't mind having at the bird feeder. Lovely stuff Andrew.

A delightful capture Andrew - thanks for sharing (in more ways than one!)
LOL! He's about the size of many birds! I've never seen a mouse in a bird feeder, though.
Nice picture - they always find a feed.
