We had a drive out to visit the lovely little town of Bakewell yesterday.
It's only about 45 miles away but I haven't been for years.
The river that runs through the town is quite shallow and full of trout.
People feed the ducks and geese and it's fun to watch as the fish snatch the bread before the birds get to it.
Bakewell is the home of the famous Bakewell Pudding... and this shop also sold some wonderful bread and local cheeses... we treated ourselves and had a great supper last night.
A nice relaxing day... and the weather was fantastic.

sounds like a really lovely days outing Andrew
Nice place! The river looks similar to some here...shallow and popular with the anglers.
The pudding shop looks so quaint, nice looking place and love the shots of the birds in the water.
Wow Andrew, a great trip!

Is the Bakewell pudding another name for the Bakewell tart? If so I'll have half a dozen please.
Looks like a nice, relaxing day. Especially with a bakery stop!
It's a pretty little place Andrew ! I bet the fresh bread was yummy!
What lovely shots - brings back old memories of going to Bakewell with my nana.
What a charming little place! I love the stone bridge and shop window! xo Karen
Hi Andrew That was a great outing you took and glad you bought something from the Bakewell shop
Oh what a fun village to visit.
Andrew, my favourite shop of all time is in Bakewell, tucked away in a little courtyard, called the Wee Dram (a Whiskey lovers sweet shop).
