It's over a year since we first saw my garden Robin sitting in the hole in my wind damaged fence.
At the time I thought it was a one off and I would never capture an image.

I shouldn't have worried as I now have loads of him just sitting there.
This is him this morning... still bossing all the smaller birds who dare to use it.

I have to say he is a bit scruffy at the moment.

Since that first sighting I have seen Dunnocks, Sparrows, Great, Blue and Coal Tits and even the Blackbirds using the hole to come and go... a little Wood Mouse and even a Squirrel poking his nose through.
I take these shots while sat on my settee with the patio doors wide open...
...the weather has been fine for the last couple of days and it's quite warm and sunny today.

I just love that hole in your fence, and the Robin along with others, looks very happy sitting there~
I wonder why the attraction to the hole! You can create a new kind of list-- competition for the greatest number of species in a fence hole!
I love the idea in the previous comment! And I also wonder what the attraction is. They're birds, after all, and could fly over the fence.
It makes sense that mice and squirrels use it, too, because they can't fly over.
Whatever the reason, you have a great thing there where you thought you had only a hole.
I love the little ruffled robin. Your robins are much sweeter than ours in North America. Ours are bigger and more robust, and although I enjoy watching them gobbling worms after a rare good rain, I think yours are prettier.
