I am still putting out meal worms for the birds but it's costing a small fortune...
...the suet ball and mixed seed feeders need topping up daily.
...and when I throw meal worms on to the patio it's a feeding frenzy...
...and it's not just the House Sparrows...
Dunnocks...
It might cost a small fortune, but you're getting awesome photos!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I do love your header!:) The little bird is adorable and your pictures are always wonderful! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteLéia and little LUNA
You have made very good pictures Andrew.... well done again.
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind to feed them meal worms! But I can see they do enjoy them. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a feast! :-)
ReplyDeleteyou are a kind host.
ReplyDeleteI guess fish and birds both enjoy meal worms! Nice shots! I know what you mean about costing a small fortune.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrew. Your generosity has repaid you with great shots. I have to say, I used meal worms as a treat but when I put bird seed in the same place, I do get the same birds.
ReplyDeleteThe birds certainly love them Andrew. Cost is the main reason we don't put meal worms out as they'd be gone in no time.
ReplyDeleteI've a ever tried feeding mealworms. Sounds like I might need to win the lottery first;)). Adorable pictures. Off to fill my black oil sunflower feeder.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds and great to be able to see them all that close. The birds must think you are a very generous host!
ReplyDeleteYou will have to have a fund raising event ;-) Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Gordon.
Obviously the best place in town to dine! Keep up the good work Andrew!...[;o)
ReplyDeleteTerrific shots! I spend more feeding the birds in a week than I do feeding my dog!
ReplyDeleteWow rhey really go for them. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteThey do love the meal worms. Pretty birds. The last two are my favorites.
ReplyDeletenot surprising you get a bounty of birds flocking for your quality handouts
ReplyDeleteGreat way to capture the bird shots.
ReplyDeleteBut so enjoyable to watch--and your photos are of great quality. I'm currently experimenting with different seeds just thrown out on the steps and deck rails to see what will visit.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of the Sparrows, Dunnock and Robin.
ReplyDeleteThey love mealworms, I feed those too.
Greetings Irma
Will you be as happy feeding house sparrows on meal worms when you have 50 of them knocking on your window? Maybe it is time to train your robins to take them from your hand, much cheaper and more rewarding too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos - the meal worms are worth every penny.
ReplyDeleteBelíssima série!
ReplyDeleteÉ difícil fotografá-los, são muito inquietos.
Bom domingo!
Ótimo semana!
