During our trip along the river last weekend we were fortunate to see lots of birds with their new families.
This Coots nest was just across the river from the jetty... I counted five little heads.

Canada Geese... there were thirteen gosling's in this little group.
Mallards with ducklings were all along the river.
The older ducklings were fending for themselves...

... as were the juvenile Great Crested Grebes.
Oh! and plenty of young rabbits... this little fella had no fear and let me get quite close.

ReplyDeleteI think thats the first young GC-Grebe Ive seen also, or at least in that stage..Very attractive with the stripes on the face! Each one of these young are cuddly n cute!!!

ReplyDeleteYou captures some real nice close-up there Andrew - the young grebes in particular. And separated from their parents at this time of year is a difficult shot to get.
