Budworth Mere....................................................... watching sails and paddles

We had a walk around Marbury Country Park yesterday.
I was hoping for a bit of peace and quite but there was a dog show on near the car park...
...the place was packed.

To get away from the crowds we headed towards the eastern end of the mere...
...the local sailing club were having a regatta.

This Mallard was keeping her new family close to the shore and well away from the dinghy's.

Ducklings are always lovely to see...

...paddling about without a care in the world.

It was quite a windy day... ideal weather for messing about in boats.

the sailboats are cool, but those ducklings steal the show. :)

I misread your first line about looking for peace and quiet ..."but there was a dog show near the caT park". Yeah! Then I re-read it. Those ducklings looks so hug-able.

I wouldn't have minded being out on the water myself.
Lovely shots Andrew!

Nice colours on the boats, but the ducklings are even nicer! It is so fun to see those kids again. Here we have only seen some goose got their babies.
Thanks for your comment, Andrew!

There is, after all, nothing quite like messing about in boats. Ducklings are always cute.

Splendid birds! There used to be a "Caution, Ducks Crossing" sign in the village I was born in!

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

Hi Andrew, if I haven't thanked you before I wanted to thank you now for providing a link to your blog on your profile page. I have had difficulty finding others, and this makes it so easy.

Your photos are lovely. The yachts were colorful and the ducklings very cute.

Thanks also for stopping by my Goldfinch post. I think the English Goldfinch is a sweet little bird and I will have to do a google search to compare the two. I'm sure you've got some on here but not sure how far back those posts go.

Enjoy the rest of your week :)

It is nice to plan an outing, only to find others had the same idea, but the duckling images had to be so worth it~
