This was only the third time in nearly eight years I had seen a Nuthatch visiting my garden.
It was the black sunflower seeds that proved to be the favourite seed for most of my garden visitors this year... including the squirrels.
Sunflower seeds were the preferred choice of the Nuthatches.
A beautiful bird I see often when wandering around my local woodlands... great to see them in my garden.

Great images of the Nuthatch.
the nuthatch is really handsome. :)
Hi Andrew... Black oil is all I use,a lot of the mixed seed gets wasted, because the birds only like a few seeds in them!!
I love the nuthatch, one of my favorite feeder visitors , he also like the suet cakes!!
So glad you got one to your feeders, hope he hangs around : )

Have a peaceful and prosperous new year!
Beautiful bird.
Hi Andrew, in my garden the Nuthatches like the Black Sunflower seeds and any kind of nut. Great photos my friend, I find the Nuthatch and the Chickadee (Tit) very hard to photograph as they do not linger long.
What lovely visitors!
It's great that you get Nuthatches visiting your garden Andrew, they're beautiful birds to see...[;o)
I just wish they'd visit me! lol
Great garden visitors Andrew.

What a great sight in the garden. Nice shots!
Great shots from the Nuthatch! I have him at the birdfeeder all the time, he is a beauty. He loves sunflower seeds and nuts. He also loves to climb in the tree.
Seems he likes your birdfeeder.
Have a happy New Year!
