I have finally captured the Robin........................................ feeding on the log

Robin (Erithacus rubecula)

After capturing images of the Robin in the hole in my fence yesterday I finally managed to get a few shots of him using my home made log feeder this afternoon.

No need for the perches... he had a good grip on the bark.

I have seen him on the log feeder before... just not while I have had the camera in hand.

I also enjoyed watching the Blackbirds feeding close to my feet as I sat in the garden... this is the female.

The male is the same bird that just a few weeks ago looked bald and scruffy during the moult.
He's a fine looking fellow... don't you think?

  11. Hi Andrew,

What a nice series of bird pictures. The little robin is stunning. We do the same here, and feed the birds during the winter with a home made log feeder filled with natural crunchy peanut butter, they love it!
You are right about the male blackbird, he really is a beauty!
    Have a nice week!
