Comical flight shots................................................. of the birds in my garden

The birds that visit my garden move pretty fast... and I end up deleting loads of blurred images.
I was doing just that this morning when I came across the shot below and burst out laughing.

Watch out Tom Daley and co.... it looks more like a dive than a take off.

Here are a few more I decided to save... for a while anyway.

These Goldfinches were out of focus...

...but too colourful to delete.

Shock tactics...

...that don't appear to work.

Look no wings...

...coming in to land...

...oops!... missed.

 A half decent shot...

... angel wings.

...smash and grab.
Just a bit of fun while I am laid up with a bad knee... very sore and swollen so no walks for me today.

  2. Must say that first picture cracked me up as well. These shots reminds me of piece they did on Springwatch when they really slowed down filming on bird activity round the feeders. It was amazing and you really got a sense of bird community and pecking order. Woodpecker was the daddy...

  14. When I saw the thumbnail shot in the linky I thought it was a flying squirrel. :)
I spent some time last fall trying to get some in flight shots. It's fun trying and I think you got some good ones. The finch looks like a super hero in a cartoon. :)

  16. Some fun and amazing shots. I too snap a lot more photos than I keep. Little birdies are fast little critters at times.

  24. Your photography is great. But, what I like is that you are capturing these great moments. And though they may not be perfection to you....they tell a story...and that is often missing in a so perfect photo.
I love the name of your blog. That could pretty much describe me too. I can't go out for a walk without my camera....
Hope you're back to your photography rambles very soon.
