Coal Tit................................................................. a lovely little garden visitor

Another little garden favourite... the Coal Tit.

They usually don't hang around for long... onto the feeders...grab a seed then off!

So I was so pleased to capture this little fella just a few feet from my house.

So cute to see.
I had intended to share a walk around the tree I pass on my commute today... it will be on later today.

It looks like our Black-capped or Carolina Chickadees! They're fun little birds to watch, but they usually don't sit still for long.

I just love this, particularly now, with your blog photographs in mind, I tried my own hand at backyard birds, including a coal tit. Gosh do they ever jump around--I'd think I was ready, set, but by the time the camera focused, off it went. I did get one, though through glass, so not so clear as yours, of it nabbing a peanut.

Andrew, that's great, wonderful visitor again. Great photos.

Andrew: I have just been corrected on my coal tit--Shy Songbird to the rescue. What I have with the peanut is a great tit! Clearly, I must find a way to spend more time in English back gardens, birdbook in hand!

Great photos Andrew.
By the way, I was doing a crossword while away from technology last week and the only word that would fit was Coletit. My family weren't convinced and neither was I but I now see it's an acceptable variant spelling of Coaltit.
