Monday and Tuesday this week were public holidays in the UK.
I made the most of my time off work and had some lovely walks around my local countryside.
Mondays walk was done travelling light... the images are all taken with my little point and shoot.
Buttercups covered this meadow as I strolled down to meet the River Weaver near Dutton Locks.
I reached the river on the opposite side to the horse bridge (built in 1919) I shared a few weeks ago.
The view towards the railway viaduct... soon to be reached along the riverside path.
There were splashes of colour all along the river bank.
Dutton Railway Viaduct was built during 1836 it's has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II listed building. It was the longest viaduct on the Grand Junction Railway and is an early example of a major railway viaduct.
It was at this point I headed back as I had been invited out to a BBQ at my brothers... I returned the next day to walk a bit further along the river... I will share more images soon.
