I was out and about this afternoon and stopped to take this scene of my local countryside.
Cheshire is famous for it's dairy herds and of course Cheshire Cheese.
I had only taken a few images when suddenly the whole herd started to walk towards me.
"It's that bloke with the rambles blog... he's always taking pictures"
I was suddenly the main attraction.
At least from their side of the fence.
holsteins are my favorite dairy cow! :)
ReplyDeleteyou should link up to Friday's Fences with this too

How cool is that! I love unplanned moments.
ReplyDeleteYour images are beautifully pastoral, Andrew!
My husband grew up on a dairy farm, with Holsteins (Friesians), he says there isn't anything more curious than a herd of cows. They just have to know what is going on. You are lucky you don't have nose prints on your lens. :o)
ReplyDeleteI wonder why they all had to come for a closer look? They do look so content in their meadow!!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure they are friendly cows. They look a little miffed to me. haha.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrew, maybe they thought you had some food for them. Some of the cows we had when I lived on the farm, loved company, and yes they are curious.
ReplyDeleteAndrew, do you get this much female attention every day?
ReplyDeleteBut...did you check out the 'bits and bobs' on the mean looking one with the nose ring, 'cause I think they only use them on BULLS!! (and it's the only one with horns!)...[;o)
I love visiting your blog. The cows and one bull make me smile. Wonder what they are thinking. What is that curious Photographer looking at? Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'd have been scared stiff thinking that the fence is rather flimsy and would have pictured myself as flat as a cow pat with a multitude of hoof prints on my back.
ReplyDeleteThey are such inquisitive animals aren't they lol
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures you have taken some beautiful animals. Wishing you a good weekend. Hanne Bente
ReplyDeletebring on the mooooving moments, i love them and will never get tired of seeing them. i wonder if they thought you were in charge of the feed? great shops and i am jealous. I love cows. and cheese
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how they will all come to check you out? I have had the same experience with cows. Great photos Andrew!
ReplyDeletecool cows! and it seems like they just can't mooooove fast enough to get into your camera's view!!
ReplyDeletei like the radical one with the ring in her nose! what's next? tongue studs?!! :)
Looks like you made a whole lot of new friends!
ReplyDeleteNow, you weren't tempting them with an ear of corn, were you?
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Andrew. Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursdays.
They made me smile, too. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteWhat a womderful collection to sit and drink my morining tea with. I don;t have any cows here but I do have a creek. Those fellows/gals were really close. I cannot get that close to the ones across the road. They certainly are looking at you ...wish we could know what they were thinking. genie
