I watched this one this evening while I was having five minutes sat listening to the birds in my little garden.
They reach the nectar and pollen by weighing down the flower to open the petals or biting a hole in the flower tube so they can reach inside with their tongues.
cute little fat one. :)
ReplyDeleteNice shot. Great timing !
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful shot. One of my favorite things to study bees in the garden.
ReplyDeleteLovely aren't they?
ReplyDeleteDon't know how many times I've tried to catch a bee hovering like that. Just seems like every time I do, the bee darts off to some place else.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!

Most excellent:)
ReplyDelete...isn't it lovely to sit a while and just watch nature doing its own thing. I hadn't know that they might bite a hole in the petal to reach their food source though, something new learnt; thanks for sharing Drew

That's awesome, Andrew! It's not easy to catch a bee in flight. Nice job!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful macro. I'm so ashamed of us humans when I think of all the bees dying.
ReplyDeleteGreat timing on this shot! I haven't seen many bumble bees around here lately. Hopefully soon...we need them in the garden!
