I had a spell in the garden after work last night then left this apple out for the birds.
I saw the Song Thrush again early this morning.
The camera is never far away and I managed to get this shot through the window... it was raining.
As I arrived home from work guess which bird was singing the loudest... yep... the Song Thrush.
I have yet to see two together but the nest building was in earnest the other day so fingers crossed.
It has been a long day so I spent a few minutes just chilling in the garden with a cup of tea...
...enjoying the company of my feathered friends.
The Blue Tits were making the most of my presence... the squirrels won't come near the while I'm around.
Just as I was preparing to go back inside I had a wonderful fly past.
I have only seen a Buzzard low over my garden once before... so it made my evening.
Just a couple of record shots but it was lovely to see.
They are a common bird to see in the countryside and a regular sighting on my journeys to and from work but not seen very often in my urban area.
Oh! and back to the apple feeder... it's a success... the birds have been at it all day.

the apple is a superb idea. never thought of that and looks like they love it. we have lots of buzzards around here, and they are needed, they police our roads and keep them clean.
Our garden birds have such a calming influence, I could watch them for hours. Nice apple work;-)
Lovely photos :)
that's awesome that they enjoy the apple (at least until mr. squirrel helps himself)
A beautiful place to live, and for the Song Thrush and the Buzzard, well done.
You have an ideal space all to your own and the birds.
Isn't it nice to just sit outside for a little while in the morning? I go out and sit on my patio now and then.
Hi Andrew, would have thought that the applke would have been gone within 24 hours. You must have very light eating birds in the garden!
Andrew....Buddy and I want to get one of these for our yard. Did you order yours from a catalog or buy it locally. We do everything possible to attract our fine feathered friends. All your photos this week are captivating. That blue is the loveliest color. genie
These are lovely! I must get an apple feeder.
I'm so envious of your garden! It looks like a wonderful place. Great photos of the Song Thrush.
Your pics are fun....and show an active bird garden. My favorite. It's just making sure everyone is fed everyday so that they come to visit:) I would love a rainy day by the window....maybe in July we'll get some precipitation. But for now it's dry dry dry. Your rain makes me excited for those days to come.
I didn't realize that birds like Fruit, like Apples. Will have to try it one day.
Lovely pictures.
Good work!
You where lucky with all these close ups!!!
What a sweet hanger; very creative. Isn't it lovely when you can just 'chill out' enjoying hopefully, the warmth of the sun at the end of day (any left?) and enjoying a cuppa in hand while you take in what nature offers. Great to see the Buzzard too. I was hoping there was a happy ending to the apple hanger; well done!
Great shots, Andrew! I like the thrush. Nice photos of the buzzard, too. It's nice you can see all of that activity from your garden.
Great pictures Andrew, love the song thrush.
I discovered by accident that millipedes love apples too.
Love your shots here... especially that little blue bird looking at you like "what is your problem"!!! Lovely
Very beautiful series of pictures!
Well done!
Wonderful! Love that roof with all the moss.
Lovely...the one wit the apple...
And the one trough the window, and raining...wow...is brilliant, man!
Hug you!
I just love that apple feeder! Beautiful photos. And the one through the window is outstanding. I must remember to clean my kitchen window where the feeder sits! Have a lovely weekend!

Beautiful bird shots, I really like those Blue Tits.
This is a lovely way to wind down after a busy day at work, and we get to share it too. Thanks Andrew, beautiful shots!
OH that is so cool, that apple feeder, and all your great shots too of course!!
I don't always get by to comment, but I do make it a point to come by and look. Isn't it wonderful what you can attract to your own backyard? What a great variety of splendid birds you've shown in this one post!
That apple feeder is great! I've never seen one before. I love hearing about you sitting in your garden having tea. So different from me sitting out on my little patio having a diet coke! Awesome pictures Andrew!
