Big Foot............................................................................ spotted in Cheshire

    Hi there - nice picture. Back in the dim and distant past used to see these almost every day. They do have a bit of 'character' to them I think!

    Interesting you should post this one Andrew. I had a Moorhen post all written up as a draft and decided against posting as I seem to see them everywhere... the old "People don't want to see such a common bird!" conversation in my head. Then I saw your photo showing the colours which are quite stunning... and those feet... Ah well, I shall post it next week. And your comment did get me thinking that I need to look a little harder...
    All that said, this is a brilliant shot!!

    Beautiful bird! It reminds me so much of the American Coot, but with more color. The feet are almost identical.

    Great shot of your Moorhen Andrew. Ours over here were called Common Moorhen for many years but they have changed the name now to Common Gallinule.
