I have already posted about this escaped domestic goose I saw at Shakerley Mere at the weekend.
He is living the life of a wild bird and the Canada Geese were happy to let him swim and feed with them.
Honking loudly he was the main attraction of the day.... and the kids were enjoying feeding him.
I have to re-share it's wonderful blue eyes.
An Embden Goose is my best guess for ID.... bred for meat and eggs.

...when have you ever seen such baby blue eyes in a wild bird.

He sure is better off with the Canada Geese than on someone's table, especially with those eyes. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

OOOo! Juicy close ups of gorgeous eyes! I have blue eyes, too. So, I especially appreciate this fellow's. I have had a "domestic" that looks like this wintering in our cove on the Atlantic in the company of a flock of about 44 Canada geese. It's unusual to see a domestic flying around with wild geese, so I've done a little research about it. I have wanted to know what variety of domestic 'mine' is. In the process of searching for that info., I've learned a little about domestics. I think your's is an "embden" which are known for those stunning, baby blues. thanks for a great post!
Excellent photography! The bird is so beautiful - gorgeous eyes :)
So very white! Fantastic close-up shots, Andrew.
