Hatchmere Lake....................... another lovely pool in Delamere Forest

I visited Hatchmere Lake after my walk around Delamere Forest hoping to see some wildlife.

I was soon joined by these Mute Swans... looking for a treat.

I still had my 18-55mm lens on the camera... it didn't matter as the swans were so tame.

They allowed me to capture some lovely close ups.

Please scroll down a few posts to see more of Delamere Forest.

Very nice shots Andrew, cant say i would fully trust those swans. They are some mean birds when they want to be. Well done

Hmmm... so calm...

I just cannot get over your robin header. Mum says she breakfasted this morning with a robin on the windowsill. It stayed put watching her for the longest time. I wish I could have been there!

Swans are very beautiful birds. We don't see many Swans in our part of the world.

Great photos and a beautiful setting for the swans.

I'm often frustrated when I go out with the wide-angle lens and have a great wildlife encounter. It didn't matter here, you got great shot, it looks flirtatious in that last shot.

Don't you love it when the birds are willing to pose for you? (I always seem to have the "wrong" lens on my camera at just that critical point!)

Birding with an 18-55mm Andrew? You are a brave man, you risk getting swallowed by your subject! One can not argue with your results, which are stunning.
