I visited Hatchmere Lake after my walk around Delamere Forest hoping to see some wildlife.
I was soon joined by these Mute Swans... looking for a treat.
I still had my 18-55mm lens on the camera... it didn't matter as the swans were so tame.
They allowed me to capture some lovely close ups.

Very nice shots Andrew, cant say i would fully trust those swans. They are some mean birds when they want to be. Well done

Hmmm... so calm...
I just cannot get over your robin header. Mum says she breakfasted this morning with a robin on the windowsill. It stayed put watching her for the longest time. I wish I could have been there!
An beautiful series!
Great close up Andrew!! Boom & gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Swans are very beautiful birds. We don't see many Swans in our part of the world.
Great photos and a beautiful setting for the swans.
I'm often frustrated when I go out with the wide-angle lens and have a great wildlife encounter. It didn't matter here, you got great shot, it looks flirtatious in that last shot.
Good portrait!
They get nearer and nearer, brilliant photos.
Wow, awesome shots! I love the last closeup!
Beautiful elegant creatures with pretty eyes - a wonderful close up of the white swan Andrew.
They are absolutely lovely Andrew!
HI Andrew... The Swan is a real beauty...you have some great opportunities in your area to visit!!

Handsome Mute Swans. sandie
oh my; that last photo is so charming Andrew. Your white swan is very photogenic.
Don't you love it when the birds are willing to pose for you? (I always seem to have the "wrong" lens on my camera at just that critical point!)
Splendid shots of swans.
wow, those swans were some charmers, no?
Look at that last photo, begging for it's portrait to be taken :-D
What a wonderful closeup - quite a swan song! :)
They always seem willing to pose don't they; especially if they think you've got food lol
Lovely close up Andrew.

Snap! Andrew, only I didn't get close up's this year.
Nicely done.

Awesome captures Andrew! Close ups of swans with your 18-55mm... bliss!
Birding with an 18-55mm Andrew? You are a brave man, you risk getting swallowed by your subject! One can not argue with your results, which are stunning.
Cheers Sir!
