Budworth Mere........................................ a view of my local countryside

Budworth Mere.. from Marbury Country Park.
Marbury Country Park is my home patch...and only a couple of walkable miles from home.
Part of the Northwich Woodlands an area of 350 hectares which include my favourite birding places Haydn's Pool,  Neumanns Flash and the world famous Anderton Boat Lift.
It's cold, raining and blowing a hoolie here in the UK.

This image was taken in April and believe me I can't wait for spring to return.
Budworth Mere is the frozen lake at the start of my "12 months in 12 minutes" video clip.

never heard that expression 'hoolies' ... interesting. You made this video Andrew? Coming back to it; off walking right now 6.12 am --- got up to the badger; lovely production it looks to be; love those robins.

Beautiful!! I like the word "Hoolie". If you define it maybe I'll steal it, Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Your weather sounds wild in contrast to that beautifully calm mirror for your gorgeous summery sky. Is it a summer sky i wonder? The trees are all green and the wrong shape for your ever-greeens.

I wonder what you have planned for the weekend??? Nosy, aren't I.

I love how you have captured the reflection of the clouds.

Wet and windy here in Yorkshire today.

I love your description of your weather!! We've had some of that "hoolie" weather here in Washington, too. Gorgeous skies on this day though! Love the reflections on the water! Terrific capture! Hope you have a great weekend with less "hoolie" like weather, Andrew!!

I looked up 'blowing a hoolie', just to make sure I was guessing right! It certainly is a nice scene you have shown us, though. And I enjoyed your video.

A beauty, the lake; and I am a spring man, I can't get enough it, the winter, it's horrible. You're not alone there.

Beautiful scene, love it!
We have the same weather here in Norway.
Have a great weekend.

...back again and watched your video through (and a few others/liked). Wonderful productions; do you work with a 'video-camera' or with your usual camera on a video setting? Tripod/hand-held? Enjoyed watching the otters (I think they were); how strong they are shifting the rocks to fossick for food surprised me.

If it is in conditions like that not showing the effects of the cold temps, i look at it as if I am looking in our coastal areas. But ours are always like that the whole year because we don't experience your changes of seasons. You are so blessed for living near an area like that, a sanctuary.

Hi there - nice use of a phrase I have not heard in a while. Nice spring picture as well. But without a cold winter, spring would just be another set of months!

We both are so fortunate to live within walking distance to such wonderful natural places to visit. I don't think I shall ever grow tired of viewing your 12 minute video. It is peaceful to watch and I learn something new each time about creating a video. Very nice Andrew.
