I had a boy moment today recalling my old cars.
These are from the 1970's.
These are from the 1970's.
They are all shown in the order of ownership... lot's of memories.
The images are not of my actual cars... just downloaded from the net.
My first car... a Mk1 Austin Healey Sprite The famous Frogeye.... sold a few months later as the insurance was far too much. |
Sunbeam Stilletto... mine was a G reg.. Sold to a friend after my mum crashed it.... ...he wrote it off. |
Morris Minor 1000... I can't remember why I wanted this. |
Hillman Avenger Sunseeker. Starsky and Hutch... and a comfy back seat! Mine was orange like the one in the brochure below. |
1976 was so hot the vinyl roof peeled away from the roof as I travelled home from a holiday in Cornwall.
Triumph Spitfire MK4 in mimosa yellow. I really loved this car..... sold when I got married in 1978 |
Talbot Horizon. A sensible car for the married man...... sigh! |
I have really enjoyed recalling my early transport.
If anyone reads this post I would love to read about your vehicles.

Ooooh, the Spitfire was a lovely car, but what is your latest car?
You will have to wait Bob.
I still have to do the 80's,90's and Nauties...
ROFLMAO!!! too funny! the, um, comfortable back seat reference, then followed up after a bit with the sensible car for a married man. priceless!
my first car was a 1970 something Ford Pinto - bright orange body with white roof. stick-shift, of course, (as all of my cars have been since then). lots of fun in that car - not THAT kind of fun - running around w/ friends and partying stuff. :)
I like the Morris Minor; the best of the lot.
I smiled when reading your comments about cars ... as a man marries, has to do all kinds of changes ... :-)
Oh, your first car was so lovely, and Morris Minor was also a beauty!
Love the spite fire, and the healey, both of which were sold here. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

Try to get the Mk1 Austin Healey Sprite back.
A nice week to you, Andrew.
You have certainly had a very nice collection of cars Andrew. I can offer nothing more than a Vauxhall Astra and two Ford Focus', but I do have a 1961 Reliant Regal in the garage awaiting restoration Regal Restoration
the Moggy Minor was the best of the lot! I would almost kill for one now!
