Swans........a close encounter with beautiful birds

Mute Swan (Cygnus olor)

I had a really nice time watching the Mute Swans at Marbury CP a couple of days ago.
They where so relaxed about me being so close.
A pity it didn't last as long as I would have liked as a group of people with a couple of dogs (off the lead) came charging along the path just as I was getting into my stride and scared them away.

Hi Andrew...It's wonderful that you have the opportunity to be that close, and see them even!I doubt that I will ever see one!!
I think this one of the few times I have seen anyone show a photo of one out of the water Wishing you a nice relaxing weekend....Grace

Good pictures of the Mute Swans. Letting your dogs off the leads, there ought to be a law against doing that, especially when there is wildlife about.

Wonderful Andrew!
We watched a Mute Swan chase three Canada Geese around a marsh last weekend. He was a very angry bird. I think the geese were a little too loud for him.

I think swans are always beautiful. IMO Dogs should be controlled at ALL times - and maybe their owners as well!

I'm glad you were able to get as many as you did. They always remind me of fairytales. :)
I love the fourth one with the open wingspan and the rings of glistening water -beautiful!

Mute swans dont seem to be bothered by people. They are often close to us. :) Love your shots.

Now if you can get a picture of the swan facing off against the dogs you'll really have some news footage!

These are great pictures of the beautiful Swans. I love dogs and cats, but not irresponsible owners.

Wonderful series of images of the swans... I browsed your blog a bit and could easily lose quite a bit of time following your rambles! For now, I'll leave this comment and my thanks for your visit to my Sharp-shinned Hawk!

I've had dog walkers interrupt my photo session on many occasions. Frustrating to say the least. At least you got some good shots before they were gone.
