Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) |
I had a really nice time watching the Mute Swans at Marbury CP a couple of days ago.
They where so relaxed about me being so close.
A pity it didn't last as long as I would have liked as a group of people with a couple of dogs (off the lead) came charging along the path just as I was getting into my stride and scared them away.

Hi Andrew...It's wonderful that you have the opportunity to be that close, and see them even!I doubt that I will ever see one!!
I think this one of the few times I have seen anyone show a photo of one out of the water Wishing you a nice relaxing weekend....Grace
Good pictures of the Mute Swans. Letting your dogs off the leads, there ought to be a law against doing that, especially when there is wildlife about.
I love watching them - they're so beautiful.
Wonderful Andrew!
We watched a Mute Swan chase three Canada Geese around a marsh last weekend. He was a very angry bird. I think the geese were a little too loud for him.
They are gorgeous - the male's peachy bill offset by that black. Just beautiful. :) thanks for following me! i'm following back! i follow SO many blogs, but what's one more when i can see lovely creatures like these!!!
Nice series Andrew. Problems with doggie walkers ... join the club!
Great series Andrew!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
I think swans are always beautiful. IMO Dogs should be controlled at ALL times - and maybe their owners as well!
I'm glad you were able to get as many as you did. They always remind me of fairytales. :)
I love the fourth one with the open wingspan and the rings of glistening water -beautiful!

Beautiful shots of the Mute Swans. You were able to get some great shots.
You are so right they are beautiful....Wonderful photos!!
Mute swans dont seem to be bothered by people. They are often close to us. :) Love your shots.
Now if you can get a picture of the swan facing off against the dogs you'll really have some news footage!
Very nice pictures. Swans are such beautiful birds. They are so stunning.
These are great pictures of the beautiful Swans. I love dogs and cats, but not irresponsible owners.
I love Swans. You captured them very well!
They really are lovely -- great shots. I especially like the wing-flap in the last one.
Wonderful series of images of the swans... I browsed your blog a bit and could easily lose quite a bit of time following your rambles! For now, I'll leave this comment and my thanks for your visit to my Sharp-shinned Hawk!
I've had dog walkers interrupt my photo session on many occasions. Frustrating to say the least. At least you got some good shots before they were gone.
