Tall duck and handsome.......................................

Female Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos)
Hello
A very handsome chap
Canada Goose (Branta canadensis)
I had a nice stroll around Shakerley Mere this weekend and enjoyed watching the children feeding the ducks.
The Mallards, Canada Geese and the Black-headed Gulls were also enjoying the attention they were getting.
The goose above was very interested in my camera and got very close giving much amusement to the kids.

  11. Hi - thanks for having a look at the Kookaburras. Mallards are a bit of an issue down here - they inter-breed with Pacific Balck Faced Duck (a native) and you end up with some strange looking combination which is not as good as either of the origianls.

Think you may enjoy my other blog as well if youy get time to have a look. http://payingreadyattention.blogspot.com/
