Sundays visit to Erddig................................................ the house and gardens

Sundays trip out was to visit a National Trust property just over the border in North Wales.

Erddig (pronounced Erthig) is a lovely place to visit...
...the garden is one of the most important surviving 18th-century gardens in Britain.

The view from the house... there is a pond in the distance.

The pond was full of fish... big fish!

Looking back towards the house from the end of the pond.

The gardens where lovely to wander around with lot's of hidden corners.

Carriage rides around the estate with a guide were available for hire.

Question... "Andrew? we could live here"
Reply..."not on my salary we couldn't!"

More to share when I get time to edit my images... the inside was very interesting.
Very Downton Abbey with a fantastic record of the downstairs staff from a century ago.

Love the vines growing on the house! I couldn't afford to live there, either.

Nice little pad. Glad they had no window tax in as they did in France.
It is a grand place indeed but you could not photograph your bird parade through the fence, could you?

The National Trust is really doing a great job! But imagine living in such a place..a nightmare.
Great pictures with a lot of sunshine!
