The twist feeder seed race........... the sunflower hearts won by a country mile

Earlier this week I purchased a new feeder able to be filled with three different seeds.
I filled it with black sunflower seeds, sunflower hearts and a seed mix for finches.

The hearts have been the clear favourite but I have my suspicions the squirrels have helped them along...
...the seed mix has gone down by a couple of inches with the husks on sunflower seeds not far behind.

The "Twist" has proved to be a popular feeder... Goldfinches have been regulars in numbers and all the Tit's.
This morning I had two Nuthatches visit the garden... they also gave it a try.

Nuthatches aren't common visitors to my garden so were a real pleasure to see...
...staying long enough for me to capture this short video.
Oh! and the squirrel managed to get in on the act.

It is a great feeder. They had them in Pets 'R' Us but they are a bit expensive. It's a good job the birds like them.

HI Andrew In my garden at present, the black Sunflowers seed take 1st place. Wonderful to see the video of the Nuthatch, we don't have them in N.Ireland.

Love the “race.” What a clever idea to see which goes the quickest. Bud and I have looked everywhere, but we cannot find the Twist in the USA. There is one picture of it, but no pricing is available.

Great shots of the birds and wonderful video! Hope to find the twister here on the island.

That's an interesting feeder concept.
For now, my yard birds will have to be content with the old tray feeders and a picnic table top.

Thanks for the race update! I'm going to be looking for one of these before I put feeders out.
