I saw Siskins in my garden for the first time just a couple of weeks ago... and today I had some more.
The damage to the perches on the feeders is caused by the squirrels... who else?
The Siskins hung around for about ten minutes or so...
...lovely little birds to watch.
At least the metal feeders are still intact... although still quite easy to feed from.

Siskins are birds we've never had stop by here. I know they're frequent a bit further north of us. Beautiful birds and photos! The squirrels are relentless. I see my blog feed hasn't updated for you in over two weeks. I can't figure out what the problem is.
ReplyDeletePesky squirrels! Lovely to see Siskins in the garden! Won't be long before they disappear from my area!

Sweet! Not only the great siskin images but that squirrel just makes my day...it's a great shot even tho they DO eat a lot of seed that's meant for birds.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrew, Your Siskins are a very beautiful bird. Have a great week my friend.
ReplyDeletethe siskins are beautiful Drew but I know how totally FRUSTRATING it must be to find the squirrels invading your bird space. Do they cause any other damages elsewhere, would they get into house roofs etc?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little bird, lovely colours. And the squirrel too, great shots.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! Lovely birds at the birdfeeder!
ReplyDeleteWould love to see them in my garden - lucky you!
ReplyDeleteYes, squirrels are the enemy!

ReplyDeleteBet you we're delighted to get the Siskins back, ours never came again, or not that I have seen. Hope the knees are getting stronger. x
ReplyDeletei like the tree rats, but they will make a mess of plastic feeders. Lovely siskins too.
ReplyDeleteWe have pine siskins in Oregon and I love them ...I think yours are a little more colorful.
ReplyDeleteLast Fall, our feeders in Oregon were nearly destroyed by a flock of starlings, so we didn't need a squirrel ;>)
Siskins are great, aren't they.
ReplyDeleteGreat series.
