I am nursing a sore head from drinking too much last night and all my plans for today have gone array.
Instead of visiting my local woods to see how many birds I could count on the first day of the year I have made do with the garden... my count so far is just eight.
My first bird of 2013 was this little Coal Tit
Chaffinch
My faithful little Robin
These were the first to visit and were captured through the window as I am still in a state of undress.

A little too much celebrating last night here too, I haven't yet got the camera out, so you are ahead of me. Love your little robin, so adorable. Happy New Year Andrew.
Uhoh...too much partying! No worries, you got some great bird shots through the window. Love that little robin!
Wonderful!! Happy New Year!
...enjoy your day off and relax and unwind again - lovely birds Drew
Love these little locals! Sharp photos through the window!
I just catching up on blogs I follow and so glad to see these beauties. Also enjoyed the short clip BUT the red deer is absolutely stunning!
It's a pity we get when imbibing rather a lot. But still, you got your birds.
New Year's Day is made for staying at home, relaxing. Nice shots!
Happy New Year and here's hoping you see lots more birds - when that head feels a bit better!
If nature had a plan you would have had something very noisy in garden - two or three Jays maybe? - just to tune up your sore head!!
Nice pictures.
Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

Such lovely little birds to find in your garden on New Year's Day!
Lovely pictures, happy new year!
Happy New Year friend! We used to have New Year's Days like that (except without the wonderful garden birds)...but we aged out of them ;>)
Thought I'd leave my comment a few days to give your eyes time to focus again :) hope you have a fabulous 2013.
Interesting birds. Your Coal Tit resembles our chickadees. It was a sad day when the house next door sold and the new folks moved in. No more running to the backyard in pjs.
Hope the head is better Happy New Year love the little Robin.
Birds are always there for our pleasure; for me they are a gift every day!
Happy New Year to you too! :)
Cheers,
Louise
